MULTIPLE PRIMARY MALIGNANT TUMORS

Abstract
This report presented five cases of multiple primary malignant tumor of the different site orgins, which were collected from a review of 1, 552 patients with known diagnosis of cancer treated during the past three years. Four cases were excluded from the study. One exclusion was due to inadequate records and the other 3 due to occurrence of cancer in the same organs(Tab]e 1).
The author was particularly interested in tom¢¥¢¥ review of the literatures and in discussing the pertinent points, including criteria, incidence (Table 2), multiplicity, predisposing factors, relationships to blood groups and occurrence of the benign. tumors. He concluded that an occurrence of multiple primary malignant tumor is not just by coincidence, but significantly higher in the persons with a known cancer or with a history of cancer, than in the general population.
